MY ALASKA ADVENTURE…🫎🛳️❄️
Just returned from a fabulous two week vacation to Alaska. This time I traveled not only with my husband but with my two dear friends. The trip started in Vancouver, which is an awesome city. Our Celebrity Summit ship left Vancouver and we sailed a seven night inside passage cruise with stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka, and Hubbard Glacier Bay, and we ended up in Seward Alaska. After disembarking the ship we started our six night interior Alaska land trip with rail transportation via the Alaska Wilderness Express train that had an awesome glass domed roof for exquisite viewing of the beautiful Alaska scenery. We had one night in Anchorage, one night in Talkeetna, 2 nights in Denali, which also included the tundra wilderness tour that takes you deep into Denali National Park and we concluded with two nights in Fairbanks. One of the highlights of Fairbanks was being able to go on the Riverboat Discovery paddle boat tour. Most cruise lines are very good however, I really enjoyed my Celebrity Cruise experience… The Celebrity Summit is a mid size cruise ship, which makes it easier to navigate the inside passage. It had an intimate feeling, and the service was exceptional. Our aqua class cruise cabin was great and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. I chose a cabin at the very back of the ship so that when you walk out on your balcony, you were able to get a better view of the waterway and land. Weather is always unpredictable in Alaska however, the weather during our trip, which was at the beginning of June was awesome! We still needed lightweight jackets, and or sweaters, but no heavy coats were needed. The amazing thing about Alaska in June is that there is very little darkness. Sunset was usually around 11 PM and sunrise was usually around 2 AM so it is light pretty much all the time. Thank goodness for blackout shades in the room. I flew American Airlines to Vancouver and I flew Alaska Airlines back from Fairbanks. I highly recommend Alaska Airlines as they were on time, personable, and very professional. I highly recommend Alaska as a destination, at least one time in your life as it truly is a magical place. Rates and availability are normally available within a year out which gives you plenty of time for planning. Enjoy my photos. I would love to assist you on your bucket list vacation to Alaska.
