I totally forgot to share this amazing video from November. Don’t worry, these local residents don’t want to do anything other than pass through, eat some berries, or smile for the camera. They did roll some pumpkins in a neighbors yard after passing through our driveway late one evening. They are afraid of humans and dogs.

What's my favorite summer hike to recommend to our guests?

In the summer, Canaan Valley Resort opens their chairlift for scenic rides. Take that to the top, visit the launch pad for the hang-gliders, then make your way through small trail behind the Ski Patrol building through a really mossy dense forest, then through the wild huckleberry fields, leading to epic valley views from Bald K**b. Enjoy a snack at the top of Bald K**b, before heading down through the meadows of wildflowers, where you always see different species of butterflies. End your hike with your favorite apres-hike drink at Quenchers.

Otter's Den cabin is just down the road, 4 bedrooms on 3 private acres, with hot tub, and dog friendly. Ask me about other hikes, mountain biking, or activities for families in the area, I'll share all my favorites with our guests.

It's ALMOST Mountain Laurel season, blooming all over - but easy to find on the Harman Trail in the Dolly Sods. Ask me about hiking itineraries, tips for staying safe, all ages and abilities - I can recommend some great spots depending on your group, your interest, your skills/experience. Mountain biking groups are also welcome - check out Moon Rocks for some real technical riding!

I can even help you find the "Tree of Life" in the Dolly Sodds.

Come hike this summer in the Dolly Sodds Wilderness, Roaring Plains, Otter's Creek, Cranberry Wilderness or Blackwater Falls State Park/Canaan Valley State Park. Come home to stay in a comfortable bed, cook in a fully stocked kitchen, relax by the fireplace or in the hot tub.
