Fire University began in Davis, California in 2006 bringing together an eccentric and energetic variety of self expression through movement, dance, fire and music. The image of free-flowing artistry and diversity in expression exploded forward and in 2007 a second chapter of Fire University in Santa Cruz, CA was founded! The Fire University group has continued to flourish and now hosts 4 chapters

with the addition of Fire University Eugene, Oregon in 2010 and Fire University Silver City, New Mexico in December 2011! Santa Cruz, Davis, and Eugene, Oregon are doing exceptionally well, with anywhere from 20-40 burners and many drummers and musicians. Once a week, the community comes alive in the experience, whether it is a fire dancer, drummer, musician, or any other member of the community. Everyone interested in enjoying our group is welcome no matter what their skill level. Whether you are a dancer, a fire artist, a musician, a social butterfly, or just looking for some entertainment; all are welcome and encouraged to join in! We encourage the safe usage of fire-toys and general screwing around and having a good time!
