Who says Thanksgiving has to be spent at home? Sometimes the best way to celebrate is with sunshine, turquoise waters, and a tropical getaway! 🌊🥂

🌼💀 A Little Disney Magic & a Personal Connection to Día de los Mu***os ❤️

One of the reasons Día de los Mu***os holds such a special place in my heart is because of Disney Pixar's Coco. 🎶🌼

If you know my family, you know that Coco is one of my son Wyatt's absolute favorite Disney movies! It's one we watch together all the time, and honestly, it's a movie I never get tired of. ❤️

Beyond the beautiful animation, incredible music, and colorful celebration of Mexican culture, it's the message behind the movie that means the most to us.

💕 Our loved ones are never truly gone as long as we continue to remember them.

I absolutely love how Coco introduces children to the beautiful traditions of Día de los Mu***os and the importance of honoring the family members who came before us. Through photographs, stories, music, and cherished memories, we can keep their love and legacy alive for generations.

It's such a beautiful reminder to talk about our loved ones, share their stories with our children, and celebrate the memories that connect us to our past.

And if you've ever watched the scene with Miguel singing Remember Me to Mamá Coco, you know exactly how emotional that moment can be! 🥹❤️

As a mom, I love that something as simple as watching a Disney movie with Wyatt can open the door to conversations about family, traditions, different cultures, and the importance of remembering those we've loved and lost. What's even better is that we have the ability to travel to destinations like Mexico that open our children's eyes to more than just someplace on the TV screen.

🌎 That's one of the things I find so magical about travel and learning about other cultures. We discover that even though our traditions may look different, the love we have for our families is something that connects us all.

And that is a message I hope Wyatt carries with him forever. 🌼❤️

🌼💀🇲🇽 Bring a Taste of Mexico Into Your Home This Día de los Mu***os! 🇲🇽💀🌼

One of my favorite things about travel is experiencing the beautiful traditions, foods, and celebrations that make every destination so special! ❤️

With Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) approaching on November 1st and 2nd, I wanted to share a little piece of Mexican culture that you can experience right from your own kitchen! 🧡

🍞 Let’s make Pan de Mu**to!

Pan de Mu**to, or Bread of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican sweet bread enjoyed during Día de los Mu***os. Often flavored with orange zest and topped with sugar, this delicious bread holds a special meaning.

🌼 Its round shape symbolizes the cycle of life and death, while the decorative dough pieces on top are traditionally shaped to represent bones.

During Día de los Mu***os, families come together to honor and remember loved ones who have passed. Colorful marigolds, candles, photographs, favorite foods, and Pan de Mu**to are often placed on beautifully decorated ofrendas (altars).

✨ Here’s a fun way to celebrate at home!

Gather your family, put on some music, and try making your own Pan de Mu**to! It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about Mexican traditions, create memories, and introduce your children to another culture through food.

💀🌺 DID YOU KNOW? THE YUCATÁN HAS ITS OWN UNIQUE DAY OF THE DEAD TRADITION!

In the Yucatán, Maya communities celebrate Hanal Pixán, which translates to "Food for the Souls."

This deeply meaningful tradition honors loved ones who have passed away through family gatherings, beautiful altars, candlelight, prayers, and traditional foods prepared especially for the occasion.

Families create ofrendas decorated with photographs, candles, flowers, and favorite foods to welcome and remember the souls of their loved ones. ❤️

One of the most traditional dishes is mucbipollo (pib) a large tamal wrapped in banana leaves and traditionally cooked underground. It's a special food associated with Hanal Pixán and shared among families during the celebration.
