🦜 The pirates are coming to St. Augustine… again.

History roars back to life March 6–7 as Searle’s Raid returns, recreating the infamous 1668 attack led by English privateer Robert Searle against the city of St. Augustine.

Witness the clash that changed the course of the nation’s oldest city during a dramatic battle reenactment from 4–6 p.m. at the Santo Domingo Redoubt on Orange Street. Muskets crack, soldiers charge. It’s a powerful glimpse into the chaos and courage of 17th-century Florida.

Earlier in the day on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., step inside a living history experience at the Colonial Quarter. Explore a 17th-century encampment held by the Historic Florida Militia, Inc. filled with period demonstrations, historic weaponry, and interactive moments that bring the past vividly into the present.

From pirate lore to colonial conflict, Searle’s Raid offers a weekend of immersive storytelling in the heart of historic St. Augustine.

Florida is waiving admission fees at most Florida State Parks for Presidents Day weekend, giving visitors four days to get into parks without paying the usual entry charge.

The free-admission window runs Friday, February 13, through Monday, February 16, according to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
