One of the most fabled haunted places in the region is the ancient trestle bridge in Adrian.Events that are said to have occurred in the late 1800s are the subject of the mythology that is circulated. When a farmer's barn caught fire one evening, his wife, who was holding their infant, fled to the railroad lines to flag down a train for assistance while he stepped outside to try to put out the flames. She stumbled as she got closer to the rails, fell into the tracks, and the train killed her and the baby. To make matters worse, the farmer ultimately perished in the barn fire.

Urban legend: The Singing Sands of Bete Grise, Michigan - On the south side of the Keweenaw Peninsula is a beautiful beach that contains more than meets the eye. The legend is that a Native American woman lost her love to Lake Superior and, because she spent the rest of her life on the beach crying and calling out to him, the white sand still calls to him to this day. You can reawaken her voice by making the sand sing with the palm of your hand, by patting or brushing the surface. However, it only works if you’re on the beach at Bete Grise. Take the sand anywhere else, and it loses its voice.
