DeFuniak Springs, FL is more than just "a charming Victorian-era community." It's actually home to an historic resort/campus opened in 1885 for the annual Florida Chautauqua Assembly lasting from 1885 to 1927. Come walk in the footsteps of presidents, vice presidents, first ladies, famous American poets, songwriters, astronauts and Hollywood stars by strolling through these historic grounds compri

sed of charming Victorian-era cottages, homes, library, churches and structures built in the late 1880s and early 1900s. Interpretive signage placed throughout the grounds for free, self-guided tours - grounds on the National Register of Historic Places and signage provided by the Florida Division of Historical Resources and the City of DeFuniak Springs. See 10 million lights during our annual Christmas Reflections light show from the day after Thanksgiving through New Year's eve and attend the many holiday events which take place during the light show season. Celebrate LakeFest 4-day festival on the historic grounds, in the lake and on the shore of beautiful Lake DeFuniak the third weekend of May. We kickoff LakeFest at 11:00 this morning with a Fish Fry sponsored by the VFW Post 4437 and we continue til' dark with music by , Today's Yesterday Band, Shane Owens Country, and a spectacular light show by Ben Merrell - Pro Hydroflight Athlete! Come on out! Bring a blanket or folding chairs for the best seats on the lakeyard!
