Bad news, good news... The bad news is that our pergola with retractable canopy only survived one season. Damage from a storm was made much worse when a guest decided to use it after I said to keep it tied up because I would be down in two days with a replacement part. Attempts to salvage the pergola with a different canopy didn't work out. The good news is we now have a giant umbrella that offers just as much shade and much more peace of mind, and the entire dining space is wide open without the pergola structure. Kind of a dreary day to snap a picture, but we wanted to show you the new umbrella!
