I would never waste my time or energy, defending myself or my personal life on social media, but my business that I have my blood sweat and tears and my whole heart in…. I just have to.
I’ve had one hell of a hard season. I’m not gonna lie, plumbing issues, 2 lost entry key issues (totally on my part) and it’s still not perfect. I will always be putting everything I have and everything I am into the cabin.
First of all, I had a crew this month check in, and because of plumbing issues I had to hire my friend and her mother to come help me clean since the mud was tracked all through the house and yes, we were there when they arrived, and I had to have the entry door changed out with new locks and let them know one sink did not have the drain hooked up so I went to the hardware store let them know and came right back and fixed it but forgot to turn the water lines back on under the faucet which is on me, but I guess it’s not common knowledge to some people. Then someone in that same crew broke the water hose, which was no big deal. I was there within five minutes jumped out didn’t want to disturb them turned the water off. Got the hose fixed. Everyone in the crew were so friendly. They offered me a steak as they were cooking outside. I said no thanks but they insisted so. I sat by the fire and ate a steak. And every single person in that crew were telling me stories and were so warm and inviting and wonderful but the lady who booked it in her name came back from a ride and immediately the mood changed and I left. Andrea wanted all but $300 back of what they paid for 3 night stay. BADLY apparently. She’s left a review everywhere she can saying that one sink worked in the entire house, and that it was strange that I was hanging out and drinking with them, which did not happen just an outright lie. The few times I’ve had to meet guest because something has went wrong in the past four years of hosting, they have actually became good friends who joke about how they joked when I left that I came in and cartwheeled over the table fixed the breaker or what have you, and then cartwheel and backflipped out because I never want to disturb my guest. I don’t even have cameras like most Airbnb hosts. Which brings me to the next crew, who are steadily slandering my name
they came for a three night stay, they had stayed before, and we spoke briefly. The next evening I got a message that the house was infested with fleas… you know what I’ll just screenshot like they did and attach The ENTIRE INTERACTION. See, because of the prior lady, I learned to take pictures and document everything. I’ve never had such a dirty or disrespectful group. And there hasn’t been an animal kennel there for seven years, but you can check my respect in the rescue community any day of the week I beg you.I immediately got a one hour or less Walmart delivery of all of the pet and kid safe flea sprays for the home. Sprayed and stripped everything, and put new mattress covers on as I was on my way to the laundromat, leaving the cabin they all pulled back in, and when I came back to put everything back together, they weren’t there, but they had rolled all over the mattress protectors that I had just replaced. And all their muddy clothes laying everywhere BOTH before and after my cleaning. So, yeah fleas happen in the West Virginia mountains, i’ve been super lucky that it’s not happened yet and I would’ve never dreamed of giving them a bad review because they brought fleas in, or sent them my Terminix bill, because after they left, I WAS infested for sure. They broke several sets of blinds. I had just bought. Left trash everywhere and mud like no one has ever before. Definitely the dirtiest it’s ever been…. so here’s my screenshot side of the story. I strive for excellence when it comes to my business and it’s not easy alone, but I’m making no excuses whatsoever because I can handle it but I won’t allow lies to be spread and not defend it with the truth
