3 Disney World planning mistakes I see way too often! 👀🏰

💰 1. Choosing a resort based on price alone. The least expensive resort isn’t always the best fit! Transportation, amenities, and how you plan to spend your vacation can make a big difference. Sometimes spending a little more makes sense.

✨ 2. Waiting to book because there’s no promotion available. You don’t have to wait! You can secure your Disney World vacation package with a $200 deposit, and I price monitor even after you’ve booked! If an eligible promotion is released later, I’ll check whether it can be applied to your existing reservation. Promotions are never guaranteed, but waiting could mean fewer resort and room options.

☀️ 3. Trying to do everything without building in any downtime. I get it! There’s SO much to see and do, and you want to make the most of your vacation. But trying to squeeze everything into every single day can leave everyone exhausted. Whether it’s an afternoon pool break, a slower morning, or a full resort day, building in some downtime can make your vacation so much more enjoyable.

People are can be surprised by the kids clubs on a Disney cruise, so here is the whole lineup in one place.

If your child is under 3, they go to the “it’s a small world” nursery, for babies and toddlers from 6 months to 3 years old. It is the only kids space on the ship that is not included. It runs about 10 dollars an hour per child, it takes reservations, and it fills up, so it is one of the first things to book when your activity window opens.

Ages 3 to 10 go to Disney’s Oceaneer Club and the Oceaneer Lab, and they can move between the two. This one is included in your fare and runs late, usually until midnight. Two things to know. Your child has to be fully potty trained to stay there. And if you cruised years ago and remember this club going up to age 12, it stops at 10 now.

Ages 11 to 14 go to Edge, the tween space, also included, and this is where kids start checking themselves in and out. Ages 14 to 17 go to Vibe, the teen lounge, also included. A 14 year old can choose between Edge and Vibe, and that choice is worth making on purpose instead of by accident. And if you have an 18 to 20 year old, there is the 1820 Society, with its own meetups and activities all sailing long.

The part nobody warns you about is that Disney does not bend on the ages. Your child’s age during the sailing is what counts. A 2 year old with a birthday coming up still goes to the nursery. A 10 year old who feels way too old for the kids club still goes to Oceaneer. Knowing that before you book changes which sailing, and sometimes which year, makes the most sense for your family.

Ignore me having my mouth open the whole time but.. the package is OPEN and I am officially in my party era. ✨

I am headed to the very first Jollywood Nights of the season AND the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and my Christmas party heart is so full.

The Jollywood Nights part still does not feel real. Those tickets were gifted to us as part of the agency retreat Disney invited us to, and I still cannot quite believe I get to be there for it. I might cry a little. It will be fine. 😂

When you book a Disney trip, the help is already in the price.

Most people book on the website, get a confirmation email, and that is the last help they ever get. The planning, the deadlines, the early mornings, the hold music, all of it lands on them.

The question I gently retire every single week: which Disney resort is best.

Here is what I mean when I say stop asking it. Best is not something a resort just is. It is a match between a resort and a family, and no two families travel the same way. The resort that makes one family’s whole trip can quietly work against another family’s, and no ranking list on the internet knows which family is yours.
