As a governmental entity, Caroline County Government must abide by certain standards to serve all its constituents in a civil and unbiased manner
2. The intended purpose behind establishing County social media sites is to disseminate information from and about Caroline County
3. Content consisting of any of the following shall not be permitted on the County social media sites and is subject to r
emoval.
•Content not related to the original topic, including content that is random or unintelligible;
•Profane, obscene, violent, or pornographic content and/ or language;
•Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or any protected status;
•Defamatory or personal attacks;
•Threats to any person or organization;
•Content in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaigns or ballot measures;
•Solicitation of commerce, including but not limited to advertising of any business or product for sale;
•Content in violation of any federal, state, or local law;
•Encouragement of illegal activity;
•Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems; or
•Content that violates a legal ownership interest, such as a copyright, or any party.
4. The County government and Caroline County Emergency Services reserves the right to ban or block users from its page for violations of this Code of Conduct, and to report such conduct to Facebook and to law enforcement where necessary
5. Appeals of the deletion of a comment or a block/ban from a County social media page can be addressed to the County Attorney via email to [email protected].
