🐾 The Animal Wall, Cardiff 🦁🦉

Just outside Cardiff Castle, along the edge of Bute Park, you’ll find one of the city’s most charming and unusual landmarks — the Animal Wall. Designed in the 19th century by architect William Burges and completed by Thomas Nicholls, this Victorian masterpiece features 15 beautifully sculpted animals perched along the wall, frozen mid-action as if about to leap into life.

From a watchful wolf and mischievous monkeys to an eagle ready for flight, each sculpture is packed with intricate detail and personality. The original nine animals were installed in 1890, with six more added in the 1930s when the wall was extended.

It’s a favorite stop for locals and visitors alike — a whimsical blend of history, art, and imagination right in the heart of Cardiff. 🏰✨

📍 Location: Along Castle Street, next to Cardiff Castle and Bute Park
🐘 Fun fact: The anteater sculpture was modeled after an illustration — the artist had never actually seen a real one!

📍 **Liverpool, England**

Set on the banks of the River Mersey, Liverpool is a city that perfectly blends maritime heritage, musical legend, and vibrant modern culture. Once one of the world’s busiest ports, its historic waterfront — including the Royal Albert Dock — is now home to world-class museums, galleries, and restaurants.

Music lovers can trace the footsteps of *The Beatles* at The Cavern Club, explore the British Music Experience, or take a “Magical Mystery Tour” around the band’s old haunts. Football fans will find passion like nowhere else at Anfield and Goodison Park.

With stunning architecture from the Three Graces to the modern Museum of Liverpool, this UNESCO City of Music never stops evolving — a place where history, creativity, and community all come together on the Mersey.

📍 **Douglas, Isle of Man**

Sitting on the island’s east coast, Douglas is the capital and beating heart of the Isle of Man — a place where seaside charm meets island history. 🌊

Take a walk along the **Promenade**, with its sweeping views of Douglas Bay, and you’ll spot the **horse-drawn trams** — one of the world’s oldest surviving services of their kind. 🐴 The **Manx Electric Railway** starts here too, winding its way north through coastal cliffs and countryside all the way to Ramsey. 🚋

History buffs can explore the **Manx Museum**, which tells the island’s fascinating story — from Viking settlers to the famous **TT motorcycle races** that roar through the streets every summer. 🏍️

At sunset, grab a spot near the **harbour**, watch the ferries roll in from Liverpool, and soak up that calm, timeless island vibe. 🌅

York might just be one of the most atmospheric cities in England. Walk the city walls and you’ll see centuries of history laid out in every stone. The Minster is breathtaking up close — those stained glass windows hit different in person.
Grab a coffee by the River Ouse, listen to the buskers near Stonegate, and if you’re into ghost stories, this city basically invented them 👻.
History, charm, and a bit of mystery — York’s got it all.

Here’s a little snapshot of one of Paris’s most unforgettable spots — Fondation Louis Vuitton, nestled at the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, right beside the Jardin d’Acclimatation.

✨ A few things that make it special:

Designed by architect Frank Gehry and inaugurated in 2014. The building’s glass “sails” and reflective surfaces are both bold and poetic — a structure that shifts with light, weather & time. (fondationlouisvuitton.fr)

Inside, eleven galleries across multiple floors dedicated to contemporary art from France & beyond, plus temporary exhibitions, commissions, and performances. (fondationlouisvuitton.fr)

Outside, gardens, terraces, & stunning views over the treetops of Bois de Boulogne. It’s a bridge between nature & creativity. (fondationlouisvuitton.fr)

Friendly to families, with programmes for kids, as well as a restaurant (Le Frank) that combines fine French gastronomy with a relaxed ambience. (Visit Paris Region)

If you’re in Paris: whether you’re into art, architecture, or just looking for a dreamy place to wander and be inspired — this place is magic.

✨ Wandering through The Shambles in York feels like stepping back in time. 🏘️ Cobbled streets, leaning timber-framed houses, and centuries of history packed into one magical lane. No wonder it inspired Diagon Alley in Harry Potter! 🪄✨

I'm watching The DaVinci Code, and it reminded me of my recent visit to Westminster Abbey, and Scientists Corner. Here we see Sir Isaac Newton and his orb.
