The countdown begins. Few more days and ill get a much needed break from Iowa, the heat and dirty waters. Chasing 40s on the home turf and hopefully putting friends and family on some of their first giants. My track record with getting people on big gators is fairly good. But this time I've got over a dozen people to possibly go for some giants๐Ÿ˜‚
Stay tuned. Clear water, wolves, bears, double 10s, Glides, sore arms and falling asleep to the Loons talking. Coming soon.

Different kind of weekend! After storm damage clean up at the house, we finally got to get on the water this afternoon for a bit.
Started off chasing river crappies and it was a bust with the muddy water. Change of venue and we found some cleaner water and hunted down some shallow water walleyes that have been going for a few days now. We ended up boxing 7 fat walleyes and after talking to a guy and his girlfriend on the bank for a spell...we did our good deed for the day and gave them all our walleyes ๐Ÿ˜‚. They weren't from the area and didnt have any fish, so why not help em out.
The shallow hot bite also yielded some very nice drummers that were a blast on artificials. We kept 3 fat ones and made a fine meal. Dont sleep on the only fish in the states that smokes a bait like a walleye and fight just like one as well. They are phenomenal eating especially in cold waters. They taste lust like a trigger fish and better than a crappie.

We snuck out while the clouds were blocking the nasty sun. Fished an hour and a half. Mainly seeing if the water was still mud and if the whites were firing off yet. Walleyes are still going strong and a few whites were starting to play. Should be a good top water bite coming soon I would imagine.

I may have time for 2-3 trips middle/end of next week. These will more than likely be south of DSM trips. If my work schedule pans out and water is good..I will run. Ill reach out to a few people on the list also, but just giving a heads up. Other than these days, I wont have anything open until July. Message/Call me if any interest.

Went out for a little bit to see how bad the water was after the rains. Extremely muddy in most areas and it took some effort to get them to go, but after about 45 minutes of switching out baits...we managed to figure out what they wanted.
Graphing fish was simple, but finding the right lure was a challenge. We landed on 2 pods of fish that seemed to all be 15.5" to 18" which was perfect, they were dialed and committed once they seen the lure. Didn't lose a single fish and had a couple real ones swing and miss right at the boat. Could have took home a couple limits but just kept enough for a nice blackened walleye dinner.
Relaxing late afternoon but back to the grind tomorrow.

Dave and Jeremy came down from Northern Iowa today to see what this walleye stuff was all about and I served them up a solid outing ๐Ÿ”ฅ
The fish played good considering muddy waters and rising levels through the day. Not complaints....Not sure what the deal is, but another fat gator was landed also. That's 3 rockets on 3 separate guide trips, pretty cool to see!.
I don't have many spots left for the month of June but feel free to message me if you're interested and ill see if I can squeeze ya in! I can't promise ya a bunch of walleyes, but you sure as s**t will hear some good stories and learn a thing or 10๐Ÿ˜‰ Haven't had a blank trip yet this year and I'm sure there will be some crappy days...but I put alot of work in prior to all trips, scouting and hunting down the right fish making sure the bite is going and we aren't just staring at one another wondering why they aren't biting.
