🌊 Sunday | Behind the Coastline

Labor Day weekend is family time for us too. It just looks a little different for the family behind Coastline. 😂🔧

While our guests are enjoying the Gulf with their families, Kristen, Eric and Elijah are making the rounds together, walking properties, checking doors and making sure the Wi-Fi, TVs and everything else are ready for a great stay.

Sometimes that means Kristen brings the pink tool bag and puts Eric and Elijah to work. 😂

We want our guests focused on their vacation, not the little things we should have noticed first. That’s what being local and personally invested looks like at Coastline.

Being a woman-led vacation rental company sometimes means showing up with the pink tool bag. Because, duh! 😂🩷🔧

Kristen spent part of today checking properties before guests arrived and helping an owner with a service call. Eric and Elijah came along too, so it turned into a little family field day. 😂

That’s really what Coastline is all about. We genuinely love serving our owners and guests, whether that means caring for someone’s investment, making sure a home is ready for a family’s vacation or stepping in when something needs attention.

It isn’t just business to us. It’s personal, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🩷

🔑 Friday | For Our Owners

One thing we talk about a lot at Coastline is that managing a vacation rental is about so much more than just getting bookings.

Of course, revenue matters. That’s why we’re constantly watching rates, booking pace, demand and calendar gaps to make sure each property is positioned as well as possible. We don’t believe in setting a rate and forgetting about it because the market changes, booking patterns change and sometimes a small adjustment can make a big difference.

But we also want our owners to feel connected to their property and know what’s going on. Every Coastline owner has access to a dedicated Owner Portal where they can see what’s on the books, block their own stays and even submit maintenance requests.

And honestly, communication is a huge part of it for us. We want to be transparent, keep our owners informed and handle things the right way when something needs attention.

The same goes for maintenance. Our job is to be proactive, not reactive. We want to catch the little things early, keep the property in great shape and help prevent avoidable issues before they become bigger ones.

At the end of the day, we want both sides of the equation to work: guests have a wonderful stay, and our owners feel confident their home or investment is being well cared for while we work to maximize its rental potential.

🌊 Thursday | Miramar Beach Lifestyle

There’s just something about a beach day in Miramar Beach. 🤍🌊

Maybe it starts with coffee on the balcony, no reason to check the time, swimsuits on, cooler packed, and everyone heading straight for the Gulf.

You spend a few hours in that sugar-white sand, grab lunch somewhere along Scenic Hwy 98, maybe head back to the pool, do a little shopping, or take a drive along the beach just because you can. Then, of course, you make your way back to the Gulf for sunset. ☀️

I think that’s one of my favorite things about living here. Scenic Hwy 98 has its own little rhythm to it. The beach, the coffee shops, the restaurants, the condos and cottages, people walking and biking, and that Gulf view that somehow never gets old!

People travel from all over to spend a week here, and I totally understand why they keep coming back.

There’s a reason you leave Miramar Beach already trying to figure out when you can come back. 😂🤍

🌊 We’re starting something new around here — Kristen’s Coastal Picks!

Every Tuesday, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite places to eat, grab coffee, shop, take the family, hit the beach, and enjoy life around Miramar Beach, Sandestin and 30A.

But before I start telling you where to go and what to order 😂, I figured I should probably introduce myself and the family behind Coastline Collections.

We’re Kristen and Eric Gillis, and the Emerald Coast isn’t somewhere we moved to because we loved vacationing here. It’s home. We were both born and raised here, and now it’s where we’re raising our family, working, and making so many of our favorite memories.

I’m Kristen, and if you’ve ever called, emailed, texted, booked a stay, owned a property with us, or needed something handled at a condo… there’s a pretty good chance we’ve crossed paths somewhere along the way. 😂

I’ve spent years in the vacation rental world, and I’m a big believer that property management should still feel personal. Take care of the home. Take care of the guest. Communicate. Answer the phone. Fix the problem. And treat people the way you’d want someone to treat your own family.

Eric is my husband, my sounding board, and the person who gets to hear approximately 47 new Coastline ideas before breakfast. 😂 He’s the Assistant Principal at Seaside Neighborhood School, a disabled Army veteran, and plays a big role behind the scenes as we continue growing Coastline the right way.

Together, we’re raising our boys, loving on one very spoiled dog, and building a company we’re incredibly proud to put our family behind.

To every one of you who voted yesterday — thank you.
Truly.

You showed up. You weighed in. You asked your husbands, your daughters, your best friend from book club. You gave us your honest two cents on something we’ve been quietly working on for months.

To some, picking between two logos might seem like a small thing. To us? It was a reminder of why we’ve been doing this for 24 years.

Twenty-four years of returning families.
Of “same week as last year, please” phone calls.
Of “see you next summer” goodbyes that meant every word.
Of little ones who first stayed with us in floaties now bringing their own babies back to the same beach.

This place was built BY you. And FOR you.
