Our 4PM cruise is serving up a different shade of paradise! 💚

Wondering about that golden-green water? After major storms, runoff can carry natural tannins from leaves and other plant material into the bay—think nature brewing a little tea! 🌿💧 At lower tide, that bay water can give Crab Island a different look, even while the sandy bottom is still clearly visible.

We’re also approaching the first-quarter moon and the smaller tidal swings associated with neap tides. 🌙 Mother Nature has more than turquoise in her paint box! 🩵💚

⏳ October 31 is just 15 days away, and our Crab Island season countdown continues! Come make a few more memories with us before we wrap it up for the 2026 Crab Island season! Then onto Boat Rides and Sunset Cruises until March 2027 when she opens again!

It’s FRIDAY, the sun is shining, and Crab Island is absolutely ROCKING! 🔆🙌

Looking out here today, you’d never guess we just went through a hurricane. Boats everywhere, guests splashing, and that sunshine dancing across the sandbar—we’ve missed THIS! 💚

With nearby water temps around 80° and air temps in the low 80s, October is serving up a perfect day to leave your worries on shore.

And for our northern guests? We’ve got a cold front set to arrive overnight, so it’s your time to shine! ✨ The water temps will still be nice, but for us Floridians….we will be in layers 🤣

After the week our community has had, these smiles mean a little more. Thank you to every guest choosing to spend part of your day with us!

Back on the water, and it feels SO good! Crab Island is officially open again! 🥳

After the storm, the cleanup, and the waiting….getting to welcome guests aboard again means more than we can put into words.

The boat is back in the water and ready to go… and so are we! But first, we’re waiting for the official all-clear from the National Park Service to resume our Crab Island trips.

The storm may be gone, but the hazards can linger. “Ghost debris”—boards, broken dock sections, branches (microwaves) and other storm wreckage—can float just beneath the surface or settle where guests would normally wade. You may not see it until you’re right on top of it.

☀️ Sunshine and calm water don’t automatically mean safe water.

We’re eager to welcome everyone aboard, but giving crews time to assess conditions matters. Your safety is worth the wait. 🫶

We’ll share an update as soon as we have clearance and can safely resume trips.

We might still be without power, but Knot Guilty is back home—and we are STILL STANDING. 🫶

With no electricity at home, we figured we might as well get some work done and bring our girl back to her slip. But seeing the destruction along the way was heartbreaking. So many damaged docks, trees down everywhere, neighbors picking up storm debris… even our beloved Destin sign is gone.

This afternoon’s reports showed nearly 29,000 customers still without power across Okaloosa County: 20,710 with FPL and 8,008 with CHELCO. We’re among those still waiting, and we know how hard this is on our community.

Please give our linemen room to work. Keep roads and access clear, slow down around crews, follow their directions, and don’t interrupt them while they’re working. Every blocked truck or unnecessary interruption takes time away from getting someone’s lights back on.

These are our heroes right now—bringing our community back, one house at a time. 💡💪 To the local crews and everyone who traveled here to help: we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re grateful.

Thank you, too, to our first responders and every neighbor lending a hand with cleanup. Recovery takes all of us.

The sound of the Gulf Coast this morning… generators. 🔊⚡️ Our unofficial post-hurricane soundtrack—and “Start Me Up” feels pretty appropriate right now.

Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin last night around 8:30 p.m. CDT as a Category 2 hurricane with 105 mph sustained winds, bringing damaging wind, heavy rain and coastal flooding to our backyard. There’s so many trees down it’s hard to know where to start!

Early this morning, more than 915,000 homes and businesses across Florida, Alabama and Georgia were without power. We’re among them after a long night listening to the wind howl.

Our generator runs on gasoline OR propane and keeps the “110” flowing into the house—as I call it! It keeps our water running and gives us power while we wait for electricity to be restored. Right now, that rumble is a welcome sound. 🙌

Thinking of everyone waking up to damage, checking on loved ones and figuring out what comes next. To the linemen, first responders and crews helping our communities recover—THANK YOU. ❤️

Keep us distracted!! As we sit here in the dark listening to the wind howl, the trees crack, and the rain pound, we’re thinking about all the storms we’ve lived through.

The ones where we lost everything. Watched cars float down the road. Went weeks without power. The ones you remember long after the water recedes and the lights come back on.

Living on the Gulf Coast means weather is part of our way of life. We love this place, and we wouldn’t want to live anywhere else—but that doesn’t mean we don’t get worried when a storm comes, you just never know. Experience gives you respect for what these storms can take.

What hurricanes or tropical storms have YOU lived through? Which one sticks out most in your memory? What did you lose, and what have you never forgotten?

Tonight, we’re remembering, listening, and praying for everyone in this storm’s path. For our friends, our neighbors, our first responders, and everyone waiting for daylight. ❤️🙏
