Building a snowman in Florida isn’t something typically seen, so when the panhandle was blanketed with a snowstorm on January 21, 2025 it was a historic event. Milton, FL, which is a town near Pensacola, set a new all time state record with 9” of snow, and that more than doubled the previous record from 70 years ago in 1954. With residents in the panhandle being ill equipped for this type of weather, it didn’t deter kids from improvising with kayaks and inner tubes for some fun in the snow! Most parts of Destin reported around 5 inches of snow. The snowmen won’t last long, as temps have been back up into the 50’s and should be in the 60’s all next week! ☃️❄️⛄️
