Crew Spotlight | Ben Trimble
Our next crew spotlight is Ben Trimble, who joins the crew of HYDRA as a deckhand for Detroit Charter Company.
Raised downriver in Taylor and Woodhaven, Ben’s journey has taken him all over the world through music, hospitality, and adventure. He began touring and playing music while still in high school, and after graduation made the move to Nashville, where he spent nearly eight years managing an art and mid-century furniture gallery on Broadway while touring with his band, Fly Golden Eagle.
Ready for a new chapter, Ben relocated to New York City with a French band he helped start, immersing himself in the beachside community while studying wine and earning his Level 2 certification through the International Wine Institute. His travels through Central and Southern Europe, Scandinavia, and South America helped shape his passion for culture, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences for others.
From Brooklyn nightlife bartending to dealing cards in Biloxi, Mississippi, and later working at a luxury lodge in the Catskills—where he balanced bartending, booking shows, playing music, and skiing as much as possible—Ben has built a truly unique background centered around people, adventure, and service.
Now, Ben is excited to return home to Detroit for this next chapter with Detroit Charter Company. He’s eager to bring his energy, personality, and hospitality experience aboard HYDRA while helping grow this exciting endeavor and creating memorable experiences for our guests.
We’re happy to have you on board, Ben, and can already tell it’s going to be an epic summer ahead.
