Dear Homeowners:
For over two decades, Doral Club, LLC has worked to provide all homeowners with the use and enjoyment of the Club's recreational facilities. There are, of course, certain conditions to use the Club, one of those conditions being the obligation to pay “Club Membership Fees.”
But now, a handful of disgruntled homeowners seek to upend (and jeopardize) the Club facilities at the Islands at Doral for every other homeowner. A few of your neighbors, Brent McNab (the current HOA President) and Jorge Tapia, have filed a class action lawsuit in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court seeking to upend and jeopardize the Club facilities for every homeowner.
Put simply, they want us to run the Club for no profit. This is not something we are willing to do.
As such, we will be closing the Club, indefinitely, on July 1, 2026.
As a result, any and all July 4th activities have been canceled. All private events scheduled to take place after July 1, 2026 have also been canceled.
If you have pre-paid a deposit for a private event, please contact Margarita del Cerro via email at [email protected] to coordinate the receipt of your refund.
We regret that it has come to this, but business people are in business to make a living. Not to operate commercial enterprises in exchange for nothing.
While we believe the lawsuit is completely without merit, and intend to defend it, we are not willing to continue operating the Club while being accused of improperly charging membership fees that have been paid for decades without protest. So long as these Plaintiffs insist that we be obligated to run it without any profit, and are suing to try to compel the return of fees already charged and paid, the Club will remain closed.
If you are interested in reading the lawsuit, you can find the complaint on our website:
