On Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration announced that it would be suspending flight operations for Boeing's Max 737-9 series of aircraft.
The decision to ground the aircraft model was made after a window on an Alaska Airlines flight failed shortly after take-off from Portland, Oregon earlier in the day. There were no injuries and the aircraft successfully returned to the airport for an emergency landing.
