Months ago I decided to take my kid on an adventure for a 2 day trip to Niagara Falls. Booked our car months ago, prepaid the hotel and flights. Arrive in Buffalo NY to pick up a rental car at Hertz. Apparently there is no cars. How??? How as a business you sell out of cars? The customer agent at the desk claims "this happens every weekend."
I ask can I go to another location to pick up a car? The reps says: All the other locations close at 12pm on Saturday and won't open until Tuesday due to the holiday.
So this is a busy location yet they don't bring cars from other locations to meet the demand. Or do one better, once sold out STOP TAKING RESERVATIONS.
I was told its an hour wait. People on the side waiting said they have been here since 1230pm waiting on a car and it's literally 527pm . 5hrs ?? FIVE HOURS on a car you reserved.
As a Gold Member that books Hertz for work and personal I'm disappointed in this location. It's bad business to know the short comings of your company and yet never fix the issue is insane.
I'm glad I experienced this and not my clients that want to come to Niagara Falls.
I will in the future book my travel clients to Canada instead. Its not just Hertz. It's Thrifty Car Rental, Dollar Car Rental , and Enterprise.
I informed her I was a travel agent and asked should I send my clients here. Her response" not on Saturday or Sunday ".
We have been here almost 2 hours and the fact that the adventure started this way in Buffalo is a bad pre- start..
Hertz just announce there is no cars and try again Sunday or Monday... all the people are losing it. This can't be real.
Photos shows all the people sitting are on the waiting list for a car and has been for hours. All the people standing are in line waiting to check in for a car waiting list. Crazy part all those standing that haven't checked in yet can't get a car today. This is wild.
