Viking ships are known for their ability to traverse waterways inaccessible to other vessels of the times, a feat made possible by their shallow draft.

Like her predecessors, each year the Skjaldmær leaves her home port and undertakes a journey to the far off land of Hollygrove, home of the Michigan Renaissance Festival. While there, she makes berth with our friends of the Michigan Viking Alliance. For two months she stands sentinel at their encampment, watching over the good folk who step through the gates to become immersed in the rich, fun filled experiences of Hollygrove that give fantastical glimpses into an imaginative history.

To visit the Skjaldmær at her temporary dock, point your bow towards the Michigan Renaissance Festival for any one of the following themed weekends!
