21 YEARS. THOUSANDS OF KIDS. HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES. ONE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE.
I’ve started this post about a dozen times, because how do you put 21 years into words?
Twenty-one years ago, I started something I affectionately called The Homeschool Cruise.
And what began as an idea turned into something I never could have imagined.
Over the years, thousands of kids sailed with me.
Hundreds of families trusted me to help create an experience that would become so much more than a vacation. There were new friendships, old friendships that grew stronger, kids meeting kids from all over the country, laughter, adventures, learning, late nights, shore excursions, pool days, crazy group photos… and so many memories that I will carry with me forever.
But here’s the part that means the most: You trusted me.
You trusted me with your families. You trusted me to take care of the details, to help make your cruise special, and to create a place where your kids could have an amazing experience while your family made memories together.
And I will never, ever take that for granted.
I feel incredibly blessed and humbled when I look back at this journey. What started as The Homeschool Cruise became a little community of its own—and you all made it what it was.
Some of you sailed with me once.
Some of you came back year after year.
Some of you started with little ones who eventually became teenagers… and then young adults.
And some of you became friends along the way.
You weren’t just clients. You were part of my adventure. ❤️
After 21 years, I have made the very difficult decision to step away from The Homeschool Cruise.
There are so many emotions that come with saying that out loud. But more than anything, there is gratitude.
Gratitude for every family who took a chance on me.
Gratitude for every child who climbed aboard.
Gratitude for every laugh, every crazy group photo, every “Where are we meeting?” text, every reunion, every memory…
And gratitude for the fact that I got to do something I truly loved for 21 years.
But this story doesn’t end here.
Because I am so happy to tell you that the tradition will continue.
