The question is simple...

When you walk into your hotel room, are you:

👟 Team: Shoes Stay On
"It's a hotel floor... you have NO idea what's been on that carpet. My shoes (or at least my flip-flops) are staying ON." 😳

OR...

🧦 Team: Shoes Off Immediately
"The first thing I do is kick my shoes off and get comfy. I'm on vacation and this is my home for the week!" 😌

And then there's the third group... 😂

🧼 Wipes down the remote.
🧴 Sanitizes the light switches.
🚪 Cleans the doorknobs.
🛏️ Questions every decorative bed pillow.
🩴 Packs dedicated hotel slippers.
😅 Secretly wonders if they should've brought their own sheets.

Personally? I'm Team Shoes(well flops) On BUT more for sensory purposes. I am also Team I don't get under the Hotel sheets.

YES I am that weirdo that brings their own blanket and will pull down the comforter and then sleep on top of the fitted sheet.

Today we're celebrating all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, bonus dads, and father figures who make family adventures a little more fun.

They're the designated snack testers. 🍔

The ride buddies on the roller coasters. 🎢

The ones saying "we don't need a map" while confidently walking in the wrong direction. 🤣

And somehow the first ones to spot an ice cream stand from a mile away. 🍦

Whether they're building sandcastles on the beach, conquering cruise ship waterslides, cheering from the sidelines, or sneaking an afternoon nap on vacation, dads have a special way of making memories that last a lifetime.

I know, I know... everyone wants to travel during Christmas break because the kids are out of school. And trust me, the holiday magic is REAL. 🎅🏽🎄✨

BUT...

Traveling the actual week of Christmas and New Year's also means bigger crowds, higher prices, and a whole lot more competition for those dream resorts and room types.

Want a little secret? 🤫

Some of my FAVORITE times to travel during the holidays are:

🎄 Early to mid-November — the decorations start popping up, the festive treats arrive, and crowds are usually much lighter.

🎄 The first week of December — gorgeous holiday décor, special events, lower prices, and a little more breathing room to enjoy it all.

You still get the twinkling lights, holiday snacks, seasonal entertainment, and all the festive vibes without feeling like you're shoulder-to-shoulder with everyone else trying to see all the popular Holiday characters . 😂

And here's the really wild part... even though we're sweating through summer right now, THIS is the perfect time to start planning your holiday getaway.

🚨IMPORTANT TRANSPORTATION UPDATE FOR WALT DISNEY WORLD🚨

If Disney Springs is part of your “shop + snack + resort hop” strategy… this is a change you’ll want to know about before your next trip.

Starting June 28th, Disney will be updating its transportation access policy at Disney Springs for resort buses and watercraft heading to select Walt Disney World resorts.

🚌⛴️ What’s changing:
Non-resort guests will no longer be able to freely use bus or boat transportation from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels without verification.
That means:

No more hopping on a boat after shopping at Disney Springs for those iconic beignets at French Quarter if you're Non-Resort guest

In order to use the Bus or Boat transportation from Disney Springs you will need proof of one of the following:

✔️ A confirmed Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation
✔️ A dining reservation at a Disney resort hotel
✔️ A booked resort recreation experience (like a boat tour or activity)

📅 Timeline:
Starts June 28th (ahead of the July 4th holiday rush) and will be a permanent policy change after July 4th

✨ Why Disney is doing this:
This is reportedly part of efforts to:

Reduce non-resort traffic using resort transportation

Improve bus and boat capacity for on-property guests

Enhance overall guest experience for resort stays

When my family drives to Florida, one thing that makes that 14+ hour drive worthwhile is getting to stop at BUC-EE’S 🤣

Listen, if you’ve never experienced this gas station on steroids, it’s an experience all by itself.

My 18-year-old asks repeatedly, “When do we get to go back so I can get my roasted pecans?” 🤣

Buc-ee’s is MASSIVE!!!!

You’ve got rows and rows of beef jerky, fresh fudge, pulled pork sandwiches, smoky BBQ that I dream about long after vacation is over, snacks for days, and enough merchandise to make you question whether you really need a Buc-ee’s onesie, tumbler, blanket, and stuffed beaver. (The answer is obviously yes. 🦫)

Every road trip, we start planning our Buc-ee’s stop before we even leave the driveway. 😂

But I know Buc-ee’s can be a little… intense.

Some people walk in and think, “This is AMAZING!”

Others walk in and immediately think, “This is my personal nightmare and I need to leave.”

So tell me…
