There are some people who leave an impression on the world… and then there are people who leave the world a little brighter simply because they were in it.

Dolly Parton was that kind of person. 💗

As we mourn the loss of a true legend, I also want to celebrate the incredible love, laughter, generosity, music and MAGIC she gave the world.

And thankfully, so much of that magic lives on. ✨

One of the places where you can experience a little piece of Dolly’s magic is Dollywood. 🦋🎢💗

And YES… I can absolutely help you plan a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains to experience the magic behind this amazing destination!

I haven't made it there yet myself — but that changes in 2027! 🎉⛰️🦋 My own Dollywood adventure is already on the books, and I am SO excited to experience this little piece of Dolly magic for myself!

Goodbye August & HELLO September! ✨

August was another pretty incredible month over here, and it's because my amazing clients helped me ROCK THE HOUSE again with another stellar month of magical vacation bookings! 💜

YOU GUYS continue to trust me with some of the most important memories you'll make, and I honestly don’t have the words to express how grateful I am for that.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I so, so appreciate each and every one of you.

This month brought some extra special adventures, including planning my FIRST EVER destination wedding! 💍✨ And let me tell you… this one is turning into quite the event, in the absolute BEST way possible!

When you’re packing for vacation, how many pairs of underwear are you bringing?

I’m packing DOUBLE what I actually need because I like to be prepared for those little things called LIFE. 😂

Happy accidents? ✔️

Unexpectedly long travel day? ✔️

Canceled flight and now you’re spending the night somewhere you absolutely did NOT plan to spend the night? ✔️

Kiddo spills something on you? ✔️

You somehow manage to sweat through an outfit before breakfast? …WHY IS FLORIDA LIKE THIS?! 😂 ✔️

Or are you the “Eh, I’ll just wing it” traveler?
You pack exactly what you need, everything goes according to plan, and you live on the edge. 😳

Until your flight gets canceled.

And suddenly you’re standing in the hotel gift shop at 10:47 PM paying $19.99 for three pairs of emergency underwear because there’s no Target within a 47-mile radius. 🫠😂

So tell me…

I still want a little bit if whimsy 🤣

BUT:

I want the POVs.
I want the reviews.
I want to see the pictures.
I want to know what everyone else loved.

I WILL STUDY A MENU LIKE IT’S 5TH PERIOD SCIENCE OK😂🍽️

I find joy in pre-planning my meal.

Because there is NOTHING worse than being absolutely HANGRY and sitting down at a restaurant only to discover…

“Wait…you don’t have ANYTHING I want to eat?!” 😩😂

Nope.

I need to know what I’m ordering BEFORE I get there so I can arrive happy, hungry and ready to eat. 🤣

And honestly, I’m the same way with vacations.

I love knowing what to expect, finding the little hidden gems, seeing what other travelers recommend and having a general game plan because I definitely don’t want FOMO!

But I also know there are people who would rather walk in and experience it all for the first time.

✨ Magical Story Time with Kylene ✨
The “Cheap Doesn’t Always Mean Best” Edition 🏰💜

Okay, magical friends… grab your coffee because today we're talking about something I think is REALLY important when planning a Walt Disney World vacation. ☕️🏰

And I'm going to be completely transparent with y'all because this is a REAL travel agent business POV.

I recently had a client cancel a Walt Disney World vacation they had booked with me.

This family of 6 originally wanted to stay in a higher-end Deluxe 2-bedroom villa because they wanted that extra space and elevated resort experience.

The catch?

That particular villa wasn't available for their dates. 😩

So we found another option they absolutely loved, and with a bounce-back offer, we were able to make it work.

Was a 2-bedroom villa for a family of 6 a pretty penny?

Absolutely. 💸

Disney Deluxe accommodations aren't cheap, and I will NEVER pretend they are.

But then the family ultimately decided to cancel and rebook somewhere else after doing their own “research.”

They found an off-property option with a cheaper face-value price tag.

And that's where today's lesson begins…

🧐 CHEAPER DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN BETTER.

Because when you're comparing vacations, you can't always compare $X per night vs. $Y per night.

You have to look at the WHOLE vacation.

That cheaper off-property price doesn't necessarily come with the same Disney benefits.

🏰 You may no longer have that 7-day Lightning Lane booking window.

🚗 You're potentially adding the cost of transportation getting to and from the parks.

🅿️ If you're driving, don't forget about theme park parking.

🌅 You're giving up Early Theme Park Entry, which can be a HUGE advantage when you're trying to get on popular attractions before the crowds really build.

⏰ And then there's TIME.

That “15-minute drive to Disney” can look a whole lot different when Orlando traffic and I-4 decides to test your patience. 😂

Suddenly that 15–20 minute drive can become 30 minutes… 45 minutes… an hour.

And let's not forget those sneaky additional fees.

Some off-property resorts can charge resort fees, while vacation rentals can have cleaning fees, service fees, linen fees and other additional costs.

So that cheaper price you saw initially?

Make sure you're comparing apples to apples. 🍎🍎

And then there's another cost that doesn't show up on your hotel receipt:

ME 💜

When you're planning everything yourself, you're also taking on the job of navigating all those little details.

No quick text to Kylene at 9 PM saying:

“Hey, what time does the park close tomorrow?”

“How do I get from here to there?”

“Which park should we do tomorrow?”

“Help. I think I messed something up.” 😂

That's where having a travel planner in your corner can make a HUGE difference.

But here's the part I REALLY want you to know…

I am NOT here to tell you that you HAVE to stay on Disney property.

I can book any Disney Resort on property, and I can also work with you on many off-property resorts.

Because maybe Disney Deluxe isn't in your budget.

Maybe a Value Resort makes more sense.

Maybe a Moderate is your sweet spot.

Maybe an off-property hotel gives your family exactly what you need.

THAT'S OKAY. 💜

If the price tag of a Walt Disney World vacation makes you gasp a little…

THAT is exactly why I'm here.

My job isn't to push you into the most expensive option.

My job is to sit down with you, understand your family, your budget and what you want out of your vacation — and then help you understand the pros AND cons of your options.

Because sometimes spending a little more can save you time, stress and additional expenses.
