Meet my smart, beautiful, and talented friend, Tallulah!

She helps her mom and dad take excellent care of Why Not.

Can we all agree her outfit is an infurno of FUN!?

Tallulah is a chicken, frog, insect, bunny, dog, cat, and hamster whisperer.
She's also a ballet dancer, gardener, baker, and fashionista who prefers to be barefoot, unless she's rocking her pink sparkle boots.

Tallulah definitely enhances the good vibes at Why Not, so it's good luck if you find some of her sparkles :)

Meet Nora! Isn't she adorbs! She visited Why Not recently with her parents.

Nora's mom said, "She enjoyed the tennis balls, the snacks you made her, and playing fetch in the beautiful yard."

And wow! Her parents sure kept busy. They did up Dunlap (cute historic town 15 minutes down the mountain) right!

"Oh my gosh, we had so much fun at The Bee's Knees last night! Great recommendation!!"

"Loved Natural Affinity and The Dunlap Mercantile!"

They also visited Sequatchie Valley Brewing, Local Depot, and Dunlap Farmers Market.

They continued blazing their trail into Chattanooga, only 40 minutes away, and saw seven states at Rock City, a tourist destination we highly recommend, and experienced a BOOzy Ghost Tour (Chattabooga Ghost Walk of Chattanooga TN).

And, they slowed down enough to enjoy some of Flower Moon's baked goods that got delivered right to their door.

Wow! What a vacation! Nora's a lucky girl :)

Juneteenth Special!

OMGosh!

I sent "Why Not’s top 9 summertime vibes" to my insiders this week, and how did I forget to mention Tennessee Tree Toppers for a legit #10!?

First off, you can walk or ride your bike from the house; it's only a mile.

Second, the view! Even if no one is flying, the view is stunning and worth seeing. Go at sunset and wear a hat because your mind will be blown 😉

And yes, there's a third—the people you may meet! Pilots come from all over the country and world, for that matter, to soar here.

But the local pilots are my faves and have become life-long friends:) They were the first to come knocking on our camper door to welcome us to the area.

Many are craftsmen/women who built their own unique homes near the launch. And we were grateful for their guidance as we took on our house build.

Maybe you'll meet Bill and his lovely wife Jane at the launch. Bill is 94, looks 64, and can work circles around me.

Watching a meteor shower, with no light pollution, from a hot tub is fire!

When we were still living in the house, my wife and I couldn't count them fast enough, and it was an epic way to spend a summertime night.

The Perseid meteor shower is active from mid-July to mid-August, peaking on August 13th. They say you could see up to 100 meteors per hour, and with no light pollution, you’ll see ‘em!
