Road Scholar Transport

Road Scholar Transport Protecting your products & brand by providing on time, reliable freight transport.

Road Scholar Transport was established in 1988 by Jim Barrett and his wife Debra. Jim leased a used tractor trailer and served as the sole driver for the company while Debra acted as dispatcher. Jim had experience in the trucking industry since he first gained this interest at the age of 16 when he began washing trucks after school. He worked his way through college and obtained a position in sale

s at the same company for which he worked for since the age of 16. When he left this company to start his own in 1988 he was vice president of sales. Today, 20 years after Road Scholar hauled its first piece freight, Jim and Debra employ approximately 95 drivers out of 5 different terminals, own over 100 tractors, 450 trailers and additionally employ 10 owner operators.

This past weekend, our Road Home Foundation trailer proudly rolled into the 2nd Annual Cruiz In at the VFW Car & Motorcycle Show in Downingtown, PA, helping raise awareness and support for injured veterans and their families.

Surrounded by an incredible collection of classic cars, motorcycles, and community supporters, the trailer served as a reminder of the mission behind the Road Home Foundation—providing assistance to the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.

We are honored to support events like this that bring communities together while helping make a difference in the lives of our nation's heroes.
