Fall colors are just beginning to show in the San Juans and La Platas. Time to book your stay at Durango Valley View if you want to experience fall in the Four Corners area. It's been a wet streak for a bit but we'll definitely take the rain. There's more on the way but it's such a relief to see the clouds release the raindrops.

Here's a great link to check the fall color levels for the area:

Dog days of summer and can't wait to see the sights by bike. And where we can't bike then we'll go for a hike. There's always something to do outside around Durango.

Check us out if you are looking for a place to stay in southwestern Colorado.

The mountains are calling. Get your summer trip in as Fall will be right around the corner before you know it. Durango Valley View has plenty of September and October dates available.

We are deep in summer now that August has arrived. If you're looking to get away from it all, we recommend Haviland Lake. It's our go-to spot when the paddleboards are calling. Hot sun, cool water, magnificent views.

Durango Valley View is ready to host you this summer and fall. We have Labor Day weekend and a bunch of August, September and October dates available.

Update: Durango Valley View now has Labor Day weekend and most of September available for booking. Also, several dates in late August are also available as well.

We are unable to attend the Anniversary party this time around (Sept. 12th - bummer!) but if you need 2 tickets at face value, DM us and we can hatch a plan.

Mountain activities are in full swing around Durango, including the mountain bike park at Purgatory Resort.

Yes, there is a wildfire north of Ouray and another one west of Dolores but the towns are open and would love to see summer visitors support local businesses.

We're now getting some moisture in the form of rain and hopefully the monsoon rains start in the coming weeks.

Tidied up around Durango Valley View for our summer guests. Hit the Animas river trail for a segment of our modified valley loop - this time we cut it off at Trimble Lane. James Ranch was a great spot for a late lunch. Their regenerative farm and boutique market is one of our favorite stops.

If you're planning to stay in or around Durango this summer, check out Durango Valley View. We're in the heart of the Animas Valley between Durango and Purgatory Resort.

Visiting Durango for many families includes experiencing a major regional 'must-do' and easily one of those is riding the narrow gauge train to Silverton.

The historic train is a gem and we recommend riding from Durango to Silverton. Why? Because the engine is working to climb up the river valley the entire way to Silverton and you can hear the steam engine working hard.

Consider our home as your vacation base if you're heading out this way. Durango Valley View sleeps 4 comfortably (6 with a sofa sleeper) and the home is conveniently located 10 minutes from Durango, 1 minute from the Durango Hot Springs () and 20 minutes to Purgatory Resort ().
