Another successful relocation today.
Someone reached out in a local Durant group seeking help removing a rat snake from the chicken coop. Another local tagged my page and I was able to get in touch with her.
I got out there after work and scooped it up. It gave me one little kiss on the thumb.
This has got to be the most beautiful western rat snake I have seen so far. Lots of various deep colors.
It got released down the street on some undeveloped land and hopefully wont have anymore run ins with people.

Another Western rat snake safely relocated from the same place i got the last one. This time it was in a snap on toolbox that was in a shed a few feet away from the chicken coop.
Every drawer was full of stashed pecans and acorns. We definitely know it was looking for rodents.
This beauty wasn't as thick as the last but still over 5ft long.

Did a little road cruising and found a 3ft timber and 2 juvi cottonmouths. It was a great evening.

Its been a neat few days.
Thursday I got a call to pick up some racer eggs. 15 of them. They are either eastern yellow bellied racer or southern black racer. I got them on the edge of both sub-species. I will incubate them and release them back to the wild a few days later. This will take 60 to 90 days.
I will update when they hatch.

Got a call to return a coop for a rat snake. After trying fir about 45 min and finally having ti remove tin from the side, I got it out. Unfortunately, this 6ft beauty had a golf ball almost mid way down. I got it to my house and spent another 45 min working the gold ball back up. They can not pass them and die slowly from the blockage. This beautiful girl will be resting in my house for a week or so and I will release her back to wild if she recovers.

Just dont use fake eggs. There are better ways to get your hens to the nesting box. Use a real egg and mark it. Swap it out for another after a week or so. If you insist, please only use wood eggs and screw or bolt them down to the nesting box.
