The word of the day is flamboyance! Merriam-Webster defines flamboyance as:
Flamboyance (adjective): marked by or given to strikingly elaborate or colorful display or behavior
Flamboyance (noun): a group of flamingos.
We like to imagine a flamboyance of flamingos in flamboyant accessories

The first recorded use of singular "they" comes in 1375 in the poem "William and the Werewolf," according to the Oxford English Dictionary. In 1794, three female writers were criticized in The New Bedford Medley for utilizing singular "they" to conceal the gender of a story's central character. In response, they called for the invention a new gender neutral pronoun if singular "they" was so offensive. Today, we have many pronouns to express the wide range of gender identities.
