New details on Major Weekend Winter Storm:

Snowflakes begin to fly over Maine Saturday night and it gets heavy into Sunday with 1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates. The snow will changeover to sleet and freezing rain outside of the mountains where totals will still be significant.

However, the northern mountains and boundary plateau will see more than 1 and a half to 2+ feet of snow as the storm gets stronger moving away from Maine. Deformation zones will create tremendous amount of lift needed for heavy snowfall, especially over northern Maine for Sunday into Monday. There will also be blowing snow in the County on Monday. This will feel like an inland Nor'easter for part of Maine.
