Level One ACA (American Canoe Association) instruction offered by ACA certified kayak instructor. The ACA is the governing body of all paddling sports with rigid guidelines, up to date techniques and unsurpassed safety requirements. Cost of lessons range from $30 to $75 depending on number of students, (one/private/$75 1 1/2 hours, two paddlers/semi-private/$45 , and three to six paddlers/$30/gro

up also for 1 1/2 hours). Six packs $120 and four packs $90 available and can be used for scheduled trips or according to your schedule. they are non-transferrable and expire at the end of October 2014. TOURS: 1 1/2 hour guided trip on Cazenovia Creek East Aurora $30pp
Or 3 hour guided trip including lunch/snack break (hot dog and ice cream cone at Olde Tyme Chets) for $50pp. Can substitute Coffee/Tea/Hot Cocoa and Bagels/Donuts for early morning paddles. Trips are generally 2 1/2 to 3 hours long which allows for a halfway leg stretch and refreshment break (refreshments included!). No Experience is necessary. Ages 2-92 and the ability to get in and out of a kayak...think squats!...with minimal assistance or can you sit down on the floor and get up again? That is pretty much the guideline. The water is still and it is a gentle peaceful paddle through Cazenovia Creek Nature Sanctuary and Majors Town Park. The water is generally only 2-4 feet deep with no rocks, rapids or need to portage. You may get wet if it rains and the banks are muddy and slippery so be prepared by bringing a change of clothes and old sneakers or sandals with straps. No flip flops or crocs please! I include local history and lore, a bit of nature education and some story telling. If you have your own kayak, and join at least two other paddlers who don't, the cost is free. Two and under is free, over two is $15 up to four years old. Five years and up have to be in their own kayak whether they are tethered behind you or decide to try and paddle a few hundred feet on their own. Of course if there are special circumstances that can be discussed. Sunrise/Full Moon and Sunset paddles from private boat launch at Pt. Breeze, Angola. Maximum 8 paddlers. Also launching from Mutual Riverside Park for a tour through Silo City and up to Canalside. These are usually done on Friday nights but can be custom scheduled any day of the week based upon availability. Our season runs April through October and we never cancel because of rain. Just COLD and rain!
