Today is singer/musician/actor Mickey Dolenz's 79th birthday (born March 8, 1945). He was the drummer and one of two primary vocalists for the pop-rock band the Monkees (1966–1970, and multiple reunions through 2021), and a co-star of the TV series The Monkees (1966–1968). Following the death of Michael Nesmith in 2021, Dolenz is the only surviving member of the band. Dolenz began his show-business career in 1956 when he starred in a children's TV show called Circus Boy. He played Corky, an orphaned water boy in a one-ring circus at the start of the 20th century. The program ran for two seasons, after which Dolenz made sporadic appearances on network television shows and pursued his education. Dolenz was attending college in Los Angeles when he was hired for the "drummer" role in NBC's The Monkees.

A little over 3 years ago, we bought the house at 564 W. Gorrie Dr. on St. George Island, FL then known as Owl's Rest. There was a lot we liked about the house, but it needed a rebuild and updating. It was a lot of work, but we're really happy with how it turned out. Below is a video with a series of before and after photos. It's now a 5BR beachfront home - which we've renamed Front Row Center. Our elevator got installed last week along with the tile backsplash. Some supply chain issues with both of those items, but they are set now. Last item is the dune walkover - had to wait until turtle season was over to go over the dune!

Just doing the finishing touches. Bunk room was completed a couple of weeks ago and the decks and pool are in!
