The History of the our 2 adjacent rentals properties St George Island (Bay side):
1. Wild-Child Main House {sleeps 8}
2. Boathouse {sleeps 4}.

In 1969, our grandparents purchased this land to build a family vacation home for the four of us grandchildren and the generations to follow. Our daddy was in the military so we moved around frequently. Our grandparents had a vision of us having a place to call home – no matter where on the earth we were living. They wanted us to have a place to connect and spend time together, a special place that would endure long past their lifetimes, and likely, long past ours.

The boathouse went up first and we stayed in it while we built the main house. This place is our family's labor of love and our daddy cleverly named the house, “Wild-Child,” mixing together our family names, Wilder and Fairchild.

As children we stayed here over the summers and have many fond memories here… swimming in the canal, getting oysters, learning to drive, going fishing and to the beach, and the list goes on. We quite literally grew up here.

We are deeply attached to this place – it’s our family legacy. So although the four of us are scattered around the U.S. and very busy (a Veterinarian, retired Air Force Colonel, Nurse Practitioner, and retired Federal Agent/Police therapist), we decided the place needed to be updated. So we completely renovated both the main house and the boathouse.
