We conducted our first trip to Machias Seal Island today and it was a resounding success on a perfect day. We will definitely be offering this trip in the future, albeit weather dependent. There were numerous seals and great birds.

If you don’t have a drone, call us to see it from a boat and go through it in style.

Late Afternoon at Reversing Falls Park in Pembroke, Maine. This is about 45 Minutes before high tide. We watched the water go still then reverse direction after High Tide. Lots of seals too!

If I say, ‘Old Sow’, what comes to mind? Was it a whirlpool? The Bay of Fundy is home to the largest whirlpool in the western hemisphere. Named ‘Old Sow’, it’s also the second largest in the world – second only to Norway’s Maelstrom Whirlpool. The rotating water of a whirlpool (aka vortex) is caused by opposing currents, or by a current encountering an obstacle. So why does Old Sow have such a name? Because of the sound it makes.
