What a day for yesterday’s evening trip! We watched as the T46Cs and T75Cs all suddenly became very energetic after fighting the strong incoming current with T46C1 Tsunami stealing the spotlight! This big male launched out of the water time and time again, something we’re always in awe to see!

Humpback Heaven! Yesterday’s tour ventured south into flat calm water where we had a massive congregation of over 20 humpback whales feeding together with lunge feeding seen all around us! Seeing this many whales together and a couple calves in the mix was extraordinarily special and an unforgettable day.

Just in time for the start of our bird tours we spotted a pair of brown pelicans not far from the harbor on a tour this week! Brown pelican sightings in the San Juan’s are a bit rare but we’ve had a lot of reports of these guys around the area this year. It would be a treat to spot some on the first tour next week! Trips start this Monday at 10:00 where we’ll search for exotic birds such as these pelicans, puffins, murrelets and more!

Our birding trips are set to begin next week! Starting Monday, June 23rd, we’ll be venturing out in search of some of our more exotic birds in our region, specifically our puffin population! Tours depart at 10 AM every other Monday, with trips schedule for June 23rd, July 7th, July 21st, August 4th and August 18th. Book now before spots fly away!

We had a pretty fun T-Party on one of our tours this week! We had a fairly large and playful group consisting of the T75Bs, T86As, T124A2s, T124Ds and T137s — in total that’s 18 killer whales! Pretty special to see that many whales altogether.
