It's one of the most common questions I get as a travel advisor—and the answer depends on your trip, your investment, and your comfort level with risk.

Many travelers assume travel insurance only covers trip cancellations, but it can also provide protection for unexpected situations like medical emergencies, travel delays, lost luggage, and trip interruptions. When you've invested time and money into a vacation, travel protection can offer valuable peace of mind.

The truth is that no one plans for a flight cancellation, severe weather, illness, or an unexpected emergency while traveling. That's why it's important to understand your options before you leave—not after something goes wrong.

Before you decline travel insurance, make sure you understand what is and isn't covered and how it could impact your travel plans.

Read this post before your next trip to Europe!

Here are 3 things you should know before you go:

1. Don’t count on air conditioning when you’re traveling this summer. Many Europeans don't value A/C the way Americans do, and even if your hotel advertises it, it may not be running or may be much less powerful than you're used to.

2. Carry coins. Public restrooms often charge a small fee in European countries.

3. Build in extra time at immigration. Several European countries are rolling out new entry and exit systems that include biometric data collection, which could mean longer processing times when you arrive.

These are the kinds of details travelers often don't discover until they're already on the trip. As a travel agent, part of my job is helping you navigate the little things that can make a big difference in your travel experience, so you can feel prepared, avoid surprises, and enjoy your vacation from the moment you leave home.

✈️ A pilot can lose control in just 179 seconds after entering a cloud. Here's why we're not flying quite yet...

It may look like a beautiful day, but fog is not a pilot's friend. 🌫️

As a private pilot flying under Visual Flight Rules (VFR), entering clouds or fog isn't just unsafe—it's prohibited. When a pilot loses visual reference to the horizon without the proper instrument training and proficiency, spatial disorientation can occur quickly.

In fact, studies have shown that a pilot who is not instrument-rated can lose control in an average of just 179 seconds after inadvertently flying into instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).

So today, we're waiting for the fog to lift before taking off. Aviation is all about good decision-making, and sometimes the safest flight is the one you don't take.
