Planning a 2028 destination wedding? It’s definitely not too early to start.

I usually recommend getting started at least 14–16+ months in advance when possible. That gives you more options when it comes to resorts and wedding dates, and it also gives your guests plenty of time to save for the trip and make travel arrangements.

And while 2028 might still sound far away, couples are already starting to snag wedding dates for early 2028 — especially weekend dates at some of the most popular resorts.

If a 2028 destination wedding is on your radar, now is a great time to start exploring your options.

💍 J U S T B O O K E D !! Mia and Peter will be getting married at Zoëtry Casa del Mar Los Cabos in Mexico next year!

The vision for their big day is moody + vintage, and Cabo’s dramatic cliffs and rocky coastline are such a perfect fit for the look they love.

Their ceremony is going to be at El Patio, which is a courtyard-style venue with old-world architecture and a romantic feel that really works well with their wedding aesthetic.

One of the things that makes Zoëtry so unique is its boutique size, with only 70 rooms total, and it’s also known for its high level of service. It’s going to give their guests a more intimate, elevated experience while they’re all together in Cabo.

I just finished up their custom wedding website, and guests can now officially start booking!

Becca and Nathan just got married at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres last week and the wedding team and resort nailed it again!

This is one of those resorts that can work really well for destination wedding groups because it has a great mix of family-friendly and adults-only spaces, a beautiful beach, multiple wedding venue options, solid food and drinks, fun activities and entertainment, and a layout that’s easy for guests to navigate.

❤️ 🏝️ 💍 It’s W E D D I N G D A Y for Brittany and Erik!!

They’re getting married at the charming Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta all-inclusive resort in Mexico.

Puerto Vallarta checked so many boxes for Brittany and Erik. They wanted something tropical, fun, and relaxed, with beautiful beach views and a more intimate feel for their guests. Hyatt Ziva’s location tucked between the mountains gives it a secluded feel with amazing sunsets as a bonus.

The celebration was already off to an incredible start with a group adventure to Yelapa and Majahuitas on Friday, giving everyone extra time to connect and make memories together before the big day today.

Congratulations to Brittany and Erik! They’re a fantastic couple, and I hope their life together is full of lots of love and happiness.

As a solopreneur, one of the biggest benefits of working with me is that my couples get me personally from start to finish.

But I also think it’s important that I’m not planning destination weddings in a bubble.

That’s one of the reasons I value being part of the Destination Wedding University community. It gives me access to ongoing education, industry conversations, resort updates, and insight from other destination wedding professionals.

❤️🏝️💍 It’s W E D D I N G D A Y for Olivia and Justin!!

They’re celebrating at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with their ceremony on Pureza Beach followed by a cocktail hour and reception at Las Palmas Terrace.

This is one of my most favorite oceanfront reception venues. The greenery and intimate atmosphere give it such a romantic, fairytale feel. It’s such a beautiful setting at sunset.
