We still have some December openings. Hate to have the house empty when there might be folks who could use an Edisto get-away, so we'll reduce the price to a deep discount to make it possible if you have the availability.

Folks who have stayed at Chaika might recall reading about the mission work we have done for nearly 30 years. We love repeat visitors and encourage you to go ahead and book your 2026 visit. Summer peak is already down to just 3 available weeks. For a winter get-away, we still have availability this Nov/Dec/Jan. Repeat visitors can book up to 18 months in advance.

Over 10 inches of rain the past day on already wet Edisto. Lots of standing water and roads closed. Thankfully our current guests are there and enjoying puzzles and indoor activities, playing in the surrounding water, and watching the deer. Happily it's dry under our house, unlike many houses on Edisto. Our house is on a bit higher elevation, which really pays off when there is flooding. They sent me these photos. Once the rain stops, it usually drains off pretty quickly.
