Baby it’s cold outside! Looks like someone found a fun way to embrace the chilly temps! The New River Gorge National Park, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve and this iconic bridge is just 10 minutes from our fun and fabulous Cardinal Cottage-West Virginia! Come stay and play with us. Jan and Feb we offer fantastic off season rates and our hot tub is a very relaxing amenity this time of year!

Cardinal Cottage is host to many lovely birds including the state bird we named our cabin after. Here is a Tufted Titmouse caught on our new “Smart” Birdfeeder! With WI-FI and solar we are enjoying viewing many native WV birds remotely;) Bird Buddy is awesome!

Our annual Bridge Day was yesterday;)

The New River Gorge National Park draws in visitors year round but the annual Bridge Day is when thousands pour in to witness BASE jumpers.

According to Google aggregate data, these are the best and worst days/times to hike the New River Gorge's Long Point and Endless Wall Trails. We are walking distance to the Endless Wall Trails which are a MUST Do when you come for a visit!
