Do you recognize the famous pink building? The Royal Hawaiian filmed in Elvis Presley movies…. Right behind it on the beach is a booth on the sand that gives surf and Kayak lessons.
Never in a million years would i have considered a lesson before, but who could turn down our amazing hosts and not participate? It was a bit scary as i dont normally swim in the ocean. But our 2 instructors for the 5 of us were attentive and engaged with each of us with our insecurities and fears.
2 in our group got all the way up! I am surprised i got to my feet but the wave slowed and was over as fast as it started.
I felt these two young men were excellent keeping watch over all of us and making sure we were safe. I would totally do it again and recommend the lesson.
Boxed lunch after and on the run to our next event.

First night in WAikiki at the Outrigger Paradise.
What a welcome! Fresh lei welcomes are fabulous! We were treated to a fabulus show and meet and greet the actors afterwards for the Vip afterparty.
