This weekend has all the good energy the end of summer tends to bring... Live music, market mornings, a yoga flow to shake the week loose, and a couple of events with good causes behind them. 🫶

Take it in. Bring your favorite people. And leave Saturday open for the Central Illinois Truck Convoy's Convoyin ' at the Crossroads event at the fairgrounds. ✨ Proceeds from the event support Mae's Miracle.

Summer may be hanging around for a few more weeks, but fall is on its way to the Effingham County Fairgrounds. 🍂

Hobnob Harvest Market 2026 returns to the Effingham area September 4 & 5 - an official love letter to fall. 🫶 Shop seasonal items including handpicked vintage, artisanal finds and exclusive boutique clothing. Come for the pumpkin-themed photo ops and treats around every corner; stay for the Stars Hollow vibes (IYKYK).

Made for Summer Mondays | La Favorita Ice Cream & Snacks

The warm weather may be easing up a little, but not enough to talk anyone out of a paleta. 😉

La Favorita is family-owned and brings the colorful flavors of Michoacán, Mexico to our community with fresh artisanal ice cream, dairy-free options and novelty flavors like Nutella and Gansito. 🍨 The snack menu ranges from sweet to savory, featuring street corn and chicharrones, dorilocos, tortas and nachos.

Take it from us - a paleta in one hand and a bag of dorilocos in the other is a perfectly reasonable way to spend the afternoon.

Tuscan Hills Winery said, why not both? ✨ Trivia night for the Swifties kicks off at 6 p.m. tonight, and live music runs until 10 p.m. - plenty of time to catch both if you play your cards right.

Saturday is just as full, but a little more laidback. Shop the Effingham Farmers Market if you're up (it opens at 8 a.m.), or sleep in and catch Lydia Lock at Pinky's once the evening cools off.

Sunday keeps the music going... 🎶 Goldmine takes the mic at Village Wine in the afternoon, and Shenandoah closes out the weekend at the Effingham Performance Center that night.

Just when you think you can't take one more day of late-August heat, September sweeps in with cooler nights and golden sunsets that make you pause and wonder whether you're really ready to let go of summer... 🌅

Summer Sundown captures that feeling with three nights of music on the shores of Lake Sara that almost make you believe summer could last forever. Between sets there are campfire jams, yoga by the lake and songwriter circles - the kind of weekend where you end up staying longer than you planned.

August has a way of making you want to be outside for all of it - maybe because you can feel it getting ready to leave. 🌅

This weekend obliges... Music at the lake all weekend long, sangria on the winery's patio, ripened tomatoes and local honey at the farmers market, and no real reason to be anywhere else.

This time of year, there's sure to be a spare blanket or beach towel in the trunk. All you have to do now is go.

Tonight, from 6 to 9 p.m., Poss Music Works will fill Evergreen Hollow Park with three acts - Dennis Stroughmatt & Creole Stomp on Cajun-Creole honkytonk, Family Tradition on classic southern rock, and Mr. Bill opening with sing-alongs for the kids. 🎶

Free to attend. Food and drink are available for purchase (cash is preferred). The music carries, so the kids can wander the playgrounds and trails while you soak it all in...

There are only so many evenings like this left this summer. 😌
