The BLM is hiring Off-Highway Vehicle Park Rangers in the El Centro Field Office! We are looking for nationally registered EMTs who love the outdoors, care about responsible OHV recreation, and want a career managing America’s public lands!

As a BLM OHV Park Ranger, you will respond to OHV-related emergencies, conduct permit compliance checks and safety inspections, provide visitor education, promote responsible OHV recreation, and monitor and maintain trails and OHV areas, among other duties.

Attention Off-Highway Vehicle Enthusiasts!

We're sharing a safety heads-up from our partners for those who ride at the Superstition Mountain OHV Open Area.

The U.S. Navy has installed fencing and signage along the northern edge of the OHV Open Area near the range boundary west of the area known as the Dip. The fencing helps clearly mark the boundary between the OHV Open Area and the Navy range.

👉 Respecting the fencing and posted signs helps prevent entry into restricted areas.

Please follow all posted signage and barriers while riding. 🙏 Thanks for recreating responsibly on public lands!

The Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area is a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy a beautiful, outdoor desert camping experience. As we head into the busy holiday season, the BLM reminds visitors to follow the camping rules in place, by displaying your permit at all times, following the 14-day camping limit, collecting your trash and disposing of waste properly, and not reserving a space or “ghost camping” by leaving camp gear unattended.

BLM Rangers will be increasing proactive patrols throughout ISDRA to educate recreators, deter reserving campsites by leaving unattended property, and enforcing the 14-day camping limit and illegal dumping and littering. Thank you for doing your part to keep our public lands clean, safe and enjoyable for everyone this holiday season.

Heads up! Osborne Overlook will be closing for overnight camping during some busy holiday weekends. But don’t worry, day-use is still wide open for your adventures!
Closure Dates:

Halloween: Oct 27 - Nov 2, 2025
Thanksgiving: Nov 24 - 30, 2025
New Year’s: Dec 29, 2025 - Jan 4, 2026
Presidents’ Day: Feb 9 - 17, 2026

Why the closure? We need to keep the landing zone clear for emergency medical crews—just making sure we’re ready for anything! So, plan ahead and keep the good times rolling!

Off-site weekly: $55 https://isdpermits.net/
On-site weekly: $70
Season permit: $185

These fees support essential services like emergency medical assistance and facility maintenance. Remember, permits are required from October 1 to April 15. Enjoy your adventures responsibly! 🌞🚙
