Don’t be afraid to ask… i’ll always point you in the right direction.
Probably the best start to a post talking about Fishing this lake.
Not everybody’s gonna jump on my boat and pay for a guided trip and I don’t mind getting people pointed in the right direction so they can at least make their time on this Lake a little exciting and productive. I may not give you all the gold, but I’ll give you a decent starting point to catch a fish or two. I’ve fished all over the place and I’ve come to realize no water body is the same as another but if you’ve made your way here or have grown up here the least I can do is give you a little advice to get you on one or two fish to make your day worth it.
I can still remember plenty of days I’ve come back from a fishing trip grittin my teeth, wondering where I went wrong, just about ruining my day, ignoring the better parts of being out there in it, when I’ve tried just about everything. I will say I’m still “learning and living”, my best catch phrase and probably always will be no matter how good I think I might get. Stay humble and remember there’s always somebody starting out at bottom.
There was a post from some Florida Everglades anglers talking about passing the torch to the next generation of fisherman/women while expressing their concern about watershed preservation, the only way we get to see these kind of places taken care of or cared for is if we get other anglers engaged and put in our own effort to make it exciting. This ain’t just about catching fish, this is about spending time in nature, with family, with friends and having a minute, disconnected but reconnected…
Our time here ain’t that big, so maybe we should all take a moment to shrink it just a little.
Share some joy, Tight lines!
