Restoration on another mural begins!!

Work is underway to restore the "Ross the Hub" mural on the Kleinberg Building (Home to The Huntsman Tavern). Work begins today, August 8, 2025, led by local artist Lynne McCowin.

McCowin’s work includes extensive painting to add vibrancy to the artwork, as well as repairs and preservation work to ensure the longevity of the mural. There will be some occasional impacts to the sidewalk area between Club 301 and The Huntsman, as lifts and materials are transferred to the workspace. Mural work will continue through the summer season, with an anticipated completion in the fall of 2025.

The restoration of the “Ross the Hub” mural is valued at $50,000, and is primarily funded by private donation through The Ellensburg Downtown Association (EDA). Grants towards this restoration project include the City of Ellensburg, WA Government Landmarks and Design Historic Preservation Grant and the Umpqua/Columbia Bank Charitable Foundation Grant.
