Some of the best w**e experiences happen far from the famous names and crowded tasting rooms. 🍇🇮🇹

Walking through Calatroni’s vineyards in Northern Italy reminded us why we seek out smaller producers.

Before a bottle is opened, you can see where the w**e begins—the slope of the vineyard, the rows of vines, the soil, the weather, and the work required throughout the year.

Then you arrive at the w**ery, meet the people behind the label, and taste the w**es with real context. That connection is impossible to get from a store shelf.

This is why Jamie and I travel. This is why we visit who we buy from.

This is where the luggage-weight problems begin. 😂🍷

After a tasting, we always seem to end up surrounded by bottles in the w**ery’s w**e cave or shop.

Some travelers bring home magnets. Jamie and I bring home w**e. Every bottle carries a memory of the producer, the place, the people we traveled with, and the meal we shared.

Many of these w**es are difficult—or impossible—to find once we return home. Opening one months later can take you right back to the trip.

Be honest: How many bottles would you try to fit into your suitcase?

A great itinerary isn’t only about how much you can fit into one day. It is also about knowing when to stop and recharge. 🇮🇹

At Capuccina Resort, this peaceful spa became our place to slow down between vineyard walks, w**ery visits, tastings, and long Italian meals.

Jamie and I don’t believe that adding more stops automatically creates a better trip. Where we stay matters. Comfortable rooms, beautiful surroundings, and time to enjoy the resort are all part of the experience.

The goal is to return home refreshed—not feeling as though you need another vacation to recover from your vacation.

Which would you choose: an afternoon at the spa or one more w**ery tasting?

Some of the best travel memories begin around the table. 🇮🇹

In Bari, Ai 2 Ghiottoni has been welcoming guests since 1973 and is especially known for its fresh Mediterranean seafood.

Places like this are exactly what we look for when traveling through Italy.
