Facebook friends! It’s been a while and 2025 was CRAZY busy at the cabin, so we wanted to thank everyone who stayed with us last year!

We just caught up reading and responding to all our reviews from the end of the year and thought we’d share ❤️! We have had the absolute best guests and really appreciate you all taking the time to leave such wonderful reviews.

The Lazy Bear Lodge mascot showed up early this AM to try and access the trash bins. Last week we added chains to the lids and had the entire bin anchored to the ground to prevent them from flipping the entire bin over. Happy to announce this 🐻 was unsuccessful in getting to the trash!

The current guests watched him try to get in for 10 minutes and then leave, and sent us this picture 😬

Pic below is from Brasstown Bald, a 1 hour drive to the east, which you should visit if you’re ever in town! Amazing views from the highest point in GA (about 4,700 feet). You can see plenty of fall colors are filling in!

Go check it out while you’re in town!

Toccoa Falls is one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi, standing an impressive 186 feet...taller than Niagara Falls and just as breathtaking. Located on the campus of Toccoa Falls College in North Georgia, the waterfall is easily reached by a flat, 100-yard gravel path that’s fully handicap accessible. It’s a peaceful, picturesque setting that even hosts weddings right at the base of the falls. Admission is $2 per adult (kids 6 and under are free) and is paid inside the Gate Cottage Gift Shop, where you’ll also find souvenirs, locally made furniture, crafts, and other unique gifts.
