Houghton-Douglass Falls plummets 110 feet down a steep cliff into an ancient volcanic gorge. It’s one of the Keweenaw Peninsula’s must-see spots, especially in the spring when the waterfall is roaring at full force.

Fort Wilkins was built in 1844 during the copper mining boom and once housed soldiers tasked with maintaining order in this remote frontier. Today, many of the original buildings have been restored with period furnishings that help bring the past to life.

Along with the historic fort, the park includes a campground, trails, and shoreline along Lake Superior and Lake F***y Hooe, making it a unique mix of history and outdoor adventure.
