The Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol reports a total of 22 nests this year, with most expected to hatch in the coming weeks. Oceanfront property owners are asked to turn off any oceanfront lighting for the next several weeks, as excessive lighting can cause newly hatched sea turtles to become disoriented. Sea turtle season officially kicked off yesterday.
Please remember to turn off beach facing lights when not in use.
Pick up trash and throw it away. Keep the beach and ocean clean.
Fill in holes when beach play is done!
Remove chairs, umbrellas, tents, volleyball nets, daily.

It’s time!!! Sea turtle season officially kicks off tomorrow!!! May 1st.

Please remember to turn off beach facing lights when not in use.

Pick up trash and throw it away. Keep the beach and ocean clean.

Great news from our friends at Shepard Barbecue in Emerald Isle.

Getting closer and closer to show time. To bring everyone up to speed, Shepard Barbecue will be opening a kiosk in downtown Wilmington. We still have our location in Emerald Isle and plan to maintain it, although our primary focus for the time being is to get Wilmington up and running first. As a true small business with no partners, we have to operate a bit differently. As most of you know, we have joined the Cargodistrict’s next project, “Cargo West”. Our goal is to contribute to an exceptional hospitality community already thriving. 2025 is going to be a big year full of even bigger surprises, strap in.

ATLANTIC BEACH — Atlantic Beach has a coyote problem, and town officials are trying to ease it.
