Cookies, wreath making, ugly sweater designing, band's warming up. It's not only a fun and festive party here at the Recreation Center, the good news is there's still plenty of time to join us.

On top of all the other festive area events, today happens to be . What better way to celebrate than at the Christmas Cookie Social today at 3pm at the Cameron County Recreation Center. It's all part of "U.F.O' Christmas" leading up to a screening of "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians tonight at 7:30pm. We look forward to seeing you this evening.

The Christmas Cookie Exchange at this Saturday's Cameron County Recreation Center/Barbara M Brown Memorial Library's
U.F.O' Christmas Tree event is now a Christmas Cookie Social. You do not need to sign up to attend this event. There will be festive treats, hot chocolate and Christmas cartoons to enjoy.

If you previously signed up for this event, please plan on attending and bringing cookies. Participants who previously signed up will still be able to swap holiday treats.

Also the Christmas Concert scheduled for 5pm has been canceled. On behalf of both the Recreation Center and Barbara M Brown Memorial Library, we apologize for any inconvenience. During that block of time there will be an Ugly Sweater Designing Workshop. Sweaters can then be used in the Ugly Sweater Contest later in the evening.

Several events at and dealing with the "U.F.O' Christmas Tree" event are endangered of being canceled unless more interest is received.

On Saturday, November 27th, the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is hosting an ugly sweater designing workshop. The sweaters you create at this workshop can be used in the Ugly Sweater Contest at the December 3rd "U.F.O' Christmas Tree "event. The library needs a minimum of five participants to sign up by Wednesday or this event is in danger of being cancelled. To register call the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library at 814-486-8011.

Second, due to lack of interest, the Christmas Cookie Exchange at "U.F.O' Christmas Tree" is also in danger of being cancelled. If you wish to participate in this event, please head over to the Cameron County Recreation Center page and sign-up.

The Emporium marketing meeting at Rich Valley Wines last night was a huge success. For over two hours we discussed the marketing needs of both Emporium and the county. Thank you to everyone who attended. A very special thank you to Ryan Magaro for hosting us.

The next Emporium marketing meeting will be Wednesday December 8th at Rich Valley Wines. We are working on live streaming the next meeting for business owners who want to attend but are unable.

The next Southern Cameron County meeting will be at the Driftwood Saloon & Grill on Wednesday December 15th.
