Some blessings come in boxes. 💛

We are incredibly thankful to one of our amazing donors who blessed Generations Forward Learning Farm with TWO brand-new laptops for our after-school kiddos!

These laptops are so much more than technology. They mean our students will have a place to complete homework, research assignments, work on school projects, and have access to the tools they need to learn and succeed.

This is what community looks like. Someone saw a need and simply said, “How can I help?” And because they did, our children now have two more resources waiting for them when they walk through our doors.

To our donor, THANK YOU for investing in our babies and believing in what we are building. Every seed planted here isn’t going in the ground. Some are being planted in young minds. 🌱💻❤️

Today we were in the woods, and apparently it was COWABUNGA time! 😂🐢🌳

We had our Native American NRCS Liaison, Ms. Jessica, out at Generations Forward Learning Farm helping us get our FY27 conservation plan together.

But BABY… the turtles said, “Not without us!” 😂

While walking the forest, we spotted OVER 20 turtles, including what appears to be an Eastern box turtle like this little cutie! At that point, I was just waiting on Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael to come sliding from behind a pine tree.

COWABUNGA, DUDE! 🍕🐢

All jokes aside, seeing that many turtles throughout our forest was pretty special. It was another reminder that we aren't just developing a farm, we're stewarding an entire ecosystem. Our FY27 planning is about protecting the soil, water, forest and wildlife that already call these 13 acres home while thoughtfully building what comes next.

Apparently, the Turtle Conservation Committee has officially approved the plans. 😂🐢💚

Maddy, represented Generations Forward Learning Farm at the Auburn University Aquaponics Conference!

As the lead of our Generations Forward AquaHarvest Program, Maddy is our resident aquaponics expert, always learning, always asking questions, and always looking for innovative ways to expand the educational experiences we offer our community.

This conference provided valuable opportunities to connect with industry leaders, explore cutting-edge aquaponics systems, and gather ideas that will directly benefit our students, beginning farmers, and visitors.

One project we're especially excited about is exploring the addition of freshwater prawn tanks to our farm in the near future. Imagine learning how to raise freshwater prawns alongside fish and plants in a sustainable aquaponics system, right here at Generations Forward Learning Farm. That's the kind of hands-on, real-world education we're committed to bringing to our community.

The future of Generations Forward AquaHarvest is bright, and this is just the beginning.
