Venue in focus - the Historic Eagle House. Part of the experience here at Redwood Coast Music festival are our beautiful historic and waterfront venues. We select some of the finest venues in Eureka, each offering a different performance experience. Of course they all have dance floors and we have non-stop shuttle service between the venues!
The Historic Eagle House Ballroom located across the street from Eureka’s bayfront boardwalk and in one of our official hotels - The Inn at 2nd & C. This impressive Old Town Eureka landmark began as the dream of Finnish emigrants, Henry and Elvira Tornroth, in 1886 when the couple first built a hotel and restaurant on the corner of 2nd and C streets.
The property changed hands many times over the years and was falling in disrepair when, in 2017, sisters Jennifer Metz and Rebecca Rex along with their partners Timothy Metz and Tammy Rex became the new owners and embarked on the journey towards full restoration of this beautiful landmark property.
The spectacular Theater Ballroom is the epicenter of the Eagle House. The 2,700 sq ft wooden dance floor was beautifully re-floored with historic accuracy by master woodworker Eric Hollenbeck of Eureka’s world-renowned Blue Ox Millworks and Magnolia Networks “The Craftsman”. The intimate stage and the stained glass ceiling create a gathering space that’s perfect for events of all types. The 2,000 sq ft second story wrap-around balcony overlooks the ballroom, providing an excellent view of the stage from many angles.
The Ballroom offers plenty of space for kicking up your heels in a beautiful setting reminiscent of an intimate jazz or blues club and there are two bar/restaurants directly adjacent to the ballroom, the intimate parlour/lounge Phatsy Klines and Gallaher's Irish Pub.
New this year - On Saturday night the music never stops as we host bands in Phatsy Kline's Lounge during the ballroom breaks!
The Eagle House stands tall as one of the premier historic properties in town.
